#Turnthelooppink! This year we were proud to sponsor and help create the main fundraising event for the Breast Cancer Support Northland Trust. The Pink Loop Walk has been going for a number of years in Whangarei and we were excited to help bring some new ideas to this years walk.
We really focused on how we could "Turn the Loop Pink" this year and one the key aims was to get across what the Breast Cancer Support Northland Trust does and where money fundraised goes.
We create 3 giant pink balloon arches - one at the start and two around the loop - to bring pink to the walk. We initiated a school art competition, where the winning art work was printed on 1mx1m vinyl stickers that were placed around the loop, along with 1mx1m vinyl stickers with key messages about what the Trust does to help Northlanders with Breast Cancer.
It was an amazing day, the weather turned out and over 400 Northlanders came and supported the cause by walking the loop dressed in Pink.
We helped with sponsorship too, not only with donating our time to organise the event and the logistics but helping gather other sponsors who donated money, time, auction or spot prizes for the day.
The Walk raised $9,000 for the charity and got visual attention from other walkers on the day - even making it to page 2 of the Advocate.
