We had the pleasure of creating an awesome space for a 30th at Parua Bay Tavern on the weekend.
The theme was black, gold, green and white and the biggest request they had for decorations was a balloon garland. It was a casual dinner and drinks setting, with plenty of kids, so we needed to keep it light and fun.
We sourced balloons from another self started company called Pretty Little Packages created by Jo Hough. She has sourced latex balloons that are 100% natural latex and 100% sustainable, they break down as fast as an oak leaf. This vision is completely inline with the way that we like to style our events so we were proud to use her balloons for this event, and events that need balloon garlands in the future.
For the tables we set up an open L shape setting that make the most of the stunning views from the private function room at Parua Bay Tavern. Using black table clothes and stripped table runners to bring the colour theme across, we added simple decorations of gold candle holders wrapped with green seed light vines and then use real greenery and biodegradable glitter paper.
We made the balloon garland with accompanying giant 3 and 0 gold letters the head piece of the room and added gold pillars with multicoloured balloons around the room.
One of the key features was the custom made 2 tier cake that was a design created by us in conjunction with the client. Our partner Treats Cakes and Pastries then bought it to life, the top layer was the birthday boys' favourite, carrot cake, then the bottom layer was a crowd pleaser of chocolate mudcake with salted caramel swirl. It was all finished off with chuncky chocolate pieces and a different colour buttercream icing.
As this was a family affair, we made sure we made good use of the space we had by created a kids corner filled with giant connect 4, giant jenga and the client's own kids toys. The kids colour run riot while giving the adults some space.
